Do you know who your named GP is?

Please contact our reception team who will be happy to advise.

Friends and Family Test

Would you recommend us? Every patient now has the opportunity to provide us with feedback on their experiences with us….whether your contact with us was for a consultation, repeat prescription or simply a call to get some assistance from our Reception staff.

We have made it very easy to provide us with feedback…the Friends and Family Test is available in paper form from the surgery, through our on-site iPad unit (in the waiting room), or through a web-link for the surgery:

Whatever the method you use, there are very few questions, and we would appreciate you taking a minute to give us some valuable feedback. Thank you.

Comment on Intelligence Monitoring Report by CQC 2014

This heavily criticized ‘risk’ ranking of all Practices to form the basis and timeliness of future inspections has rated us 4 out of 6.  It is not a performance judgement and is not based on a CQC inspection.  It is based on criteria which have been proven, and acknowledged by CQC, not to correlate with quality of care provided.  Many of the measures used are outside the G.P’s control.

We have looked at the criteria on which they consider us at ‘risk’ (albeit slight).  We have already carefully audited these criteria prior to the report and feel that we can fully justify our status on these criteria.

We are very proud of the quality of healthcare we provide and indeed we recently had a very detailed deanery training inspection which we passed without a problem.

We will formally be inspected by CQC within the next 2 years and that information will be available thereafter on our website as well as the CQC website.

Patient Participation Group

Orchard Surgery’s Patient Participation group, are active volunteer patients that work in partnership with practice staff and GPs. This unique partnership between patients and their practices is essential to achieving high quality and responsive care. We are looking for new members, please contact the surgery if you are interested in joining the group.

Chiropody or Physiotherapy Appointments

If you have a Chiropody or Physiotherapy appointment booked for the first floor of our Loft Suite please note that we have installed a new Stannah Chairlift. This is much safer for our patients than the previous lift. If you are wheelchair bound but able to get out of your chair to use the lift then you will still be able to use the first floor services, there will be a wheelchair on the first floor for you to use. Unfortunately if you are unable to get out of your wheelchair either solo or with your own carer, we regret that you will no longer be able to use the first floor services. Claire Richards, Business Manager.
