Patient Participation GroupThank you for expressing an interest in the group. Below is some information that will hopefully give you brief insight as to its function. WHAT IS THE PATIENT PARTICIPATION GROUP?A group of people joining together in a voluntary capacity to enhance the Practice by working alongside the doctors and nurses on behalf of and representing the patients. WHAT DOES IT INVOLVE ?Primarily we do ask that members attend
a PPG meeting held at the surgery (always in the evening) approximately every
6-8 weeks. WHAT ELSE DOES THE PPG DO?• Help with patient clinics from time to time. An example of this is, once a year during the autumn when patient groups are given Flu Vaccinations.* • Help with organising Patient Health Evenings.* • Occasionally attend National PPG Seminars.* •Maybe assist in producing the Orchard Newsletter.* *All the above are not obligatory but even the smallest input is of great value. WHO CAN BECOME A MEMBER?Generally anyone who is a patient within the Practice. However the Practice does have a right to refuse an individual if it considers it is in the best interest of the individual or the Practice. WHAT TO DO NEXTAsk and the reception for an application form and return to the Practice. PATIENT SURVEYIt would very helpful if you could complete a short questionnaire using the following link. http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/SRFRW3R NHS PATIENT SURVEY KEY RESULTS APRIL 2010 – MARCH 2011Click here to download the results
